Tuscan Dairy Whole Vitamin D Milk

In my personal opinion, customer reviews cater towards people who are interested in learning more about the product that is being reviewed. They can be very simple, ranging from something like “the milk was absolutely delicious,” or something with much more detail such as a personal experience with the product. The customer reviews can vary in length, however, from my experience, I find the longer reviews with more detail much more helpful. I have chosen this review on Tuscan milk for two reasons. First, because this review was the most original of the bunch and second, I found it by far the funniest of all the reviews. As for targeting a specific audience, I believe this review targets an audience just like any other typical Amazon customer review would. It is informative in the sense that it describes to readers the quality of the product which gives the reader the insurance they want to hear to buy it. Albeit, it is not like your typical customer review as it is written in the form of a script. With that said, it still targets the same audience of a typical customer review because it still describes the quality of the product. In this case, I think the description may be more effective than simply saying “it was good” because this person shows us the milk was worth drinking instead of throwing it out. Then, if we didn’t get that from the reading, he closes his review of with, “It was delicious<” reassuring us of the quality of the milk. My favorite quote from the review is, “I had no idea Tuscan Whole Milk was so powerful,” because he jokingly implies that the milk is so good that it could give him extra powers. This would be the kind of review I would want to read when I am looking to purchase a product.

  1. Good job in describing some of the genre elements of a typical Amazon customer review (e.g. details about the product, like how it tastes). What are some other elements though? For example, what is the typical format of a review?

Are you sure, however, that the review targets the audience of a "typical Amazon customer review"? The review does write that the milk was delicious, but this information comes at the end of a story (the author has "buried the lede," to use a journalistic term). In fact, the review succeeds as a review because it doesn't fit the typical conventions of a product review.

Nevertheless, the evidence (quotes) you provide do support the claim you make.
